Custom Wedding Jewelry: How the Design Process Works

Custom Wedding Jewelry: How the Design Process Works

One of the most recurrent questions is about the process. So, let me break this down for you into a couple of steps.

1. Schedule an online meeting

Before anything else, we’ll set up an online meeting or in-person so we can get to know each other and chat about your preferences. It’s really important for me to understand your personality and tastes, as this helps me create something that truly reflects who you are.

You can schedule your meeting with me through this link.

2. Prepare for the meeting

Ideally, you’ll have some references, photos, or a Pinterest board with ideas for the style of your wedding. Photos of your dress, hairstyle, and other accessories (like shoes) are also incredibly helpful.
If you’re feeling unsure or overwhelmed about what you like, don’t worry! I’m here to help you make those decisions.

3. After the meeting

By this point, our ideas should be more organized, and we’ll know which direction to take. After the meeting, I’ll prepare a quote for you. A 50% down payment is required to move forward with the project.

4. How long does it take to produce the jewelry?

Once we’ve settled on the quote and started the project, I’ll create two or three mock-ups or sketches of your pieces for approval. The production timeline varies based on each piece’s complexity and how far in advance of the wedding we start. Generally, it’s good to allow 2 to 4 months to account for design, manual work, and any unforeseen delays. Ideally, everything is ready in time for dress fittings, but that can depend on the details and intricacies of the design.

5. How many meetings and how many iterations?

Usually, just one meeting is enough to determine the style and type of jewelry you want. I offer up to three meetings per piece, and for each quote, I’ll create up to five mock-ups.
If you need more designs or meetings, we’d need to revisit the quote, as additional work will require extra compensation.

6. Is it possible to make changes to the pieces?

Absolutely! Throughout the process, I’ll share updates so we can confirm we’re on the right track. After the jewelry is delivered, small tweaks can still be made if necessary. However, please bear in mind that we can’t remake the entire piece from scratch without reviewing the budget and timeline.

I don’t have time!

If you’ve left your jewelry until the last minute but still want a one-of-a-kind piece, don’t panic!
I always have some pieces in stock that were designed and created with care, ready to be shipped in under a week. If you still want something more personalized, just get in touch, and we’ll see what’s possible within your timeframe.
