Caring for Your Wedding Jewellery: Tips for Lasting Shine
Share
Wedding day jewellery often arrives months before the big day. This makes it especially important to store them properly to ensure they look just as perfect as the first time you saw them.
Silver and Gold
If your jewellery is made of silver or gold, it's relatively easy to keep them looking new. We can polish or apply a silver or gold coating to restore their original shine, making care for these pieces quite simple.
Although they are noble metals, oxidation can occur over time. Exposure to air and frequent handling, especially when in contact with creams or oils, can accelerate this process. To slow down oxidation, it's important to store your jewellery wrapped in white tissue paper and, ideally, in its original box.
Brass and Copper
Non-noble metals, such as brass and copper, require extra care as they are much more prone to oxidation, especially in pieces with gold or rose gold tones.
With proper storage and care, your jewellery can remain impeccable for a long time. However, if any of your pieces show signs of oxidation or wear, get in touch, and we’ll be happy to help restore their original elegance!
